JOB SUMMARY
- Will serve as a member of the Legal Services Export/Import Group with responsibility for the proactive development and implementation of strategies, processes, standard work, work instructions, and training to ensure ongoing compliance with all export laws, regulations and Our Client’s policies related to the export of technology, technical data, commodities (including products and parts), software, and services (items).
- As a member of the Export/Import Group, the Export Technology Manager will assist group members and other Legal Services staff with projects and daily activities as necessary, including with the preparation of Commerce and State Department export license applications and agreements as required to support all of Our Client’s organizations and their international programs.
- This individual will also help maintain and revise both desk and company procedures related to export compliance, edit and maintain appropriate export compliance website content, provide one-on-one export compliance guidance to internal customers, and develop and conduct export training.
- The Export Technology Manager will actively participate in process improvement activities led by the Export/Import Group and will develop common process approaches for use by all organizations and disciplines, including in the areas of classification, organization of export classification information for shared use to minimize/eliminate redundant classifications, record keeping, technical data marking, export licensing applications, and other areas.
- This individual will interact with Engineering, Global Supply Chain Management, Military and Commercial Programs, and other organizations to understand products, technology, software, and services (including third party items) and to assist the organizations with determining the export classification and export authority for exporting those items.
- The Export Technology Manager will provide internal customers day-to-day guidance in all other export compliance subject matter areas.
- The selected candidate will also coordinate with organizations to help them develop, implement, and manage tailored export compliance systems, processes, and procedures using process improvement tools. This includes strategic identification of compliance risks, conducting risk assessments, and assisting with the development of plans to eliminate and/or mitigate risks.
- Will report to the Associate Counsel/Director of Export/Import Controls

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Technical related field. Masters preferred.
- 7 + years experience with Aerospace products and services.
- Advanced training in export control laws, regulations, and policies; including, but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and U.S. Customs regulations is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of performing regulatory analysis to determine the appropriate classification and export authority.
- Must be a team player.
- Possess multi-tasking abilities, have a client focus, and work effectively in a time sensitive environment.
- Must have excellent analytical, project management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
