Title: Manager of Export Compliance Location: Redmond, WA
Summary
Manager of Export Compliance to perform a variety of high level complex, specialized and managerial tasks in support of the Group Director and Counsel for Export Compliance.
This is a newly created position and highlights our commitment and emphasis on full compliance with all export regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with export requirements through the implementation of an enhanced site specific internal export control management system.
- Through an application analysis of the site’s operations and procedures, implement a custom tailored appendix to our Export Control Manual as further direction for the Redmond site’s export compliance.
- Provide accurate interpretation and implementation of all applicable U.S. Government export/import regulations.
- Lead the Export Compliance Team in determining product classifications pursuant to EAR and ITAR.
Requirements
Education: Minimum, Bachelor Degree. Graduate or Law Degree advantageous.
Work experience: Minimum 10 years management experience with Department of Commerce EAR and Department of State ITAR compliance. Previous experience in a Department of Defense related high-tech manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Authority on EAR and ITAR.
- Thorough knowledge of export/import practices, policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
- Ability to partner with site-wide staff at all levels (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Shipping, Purchasing, Contracts, HR, etc.) to insure compliance across all functional areas.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as set priorities and multi-task.
