Exports Compliance Manager

Location: Hartford, CT or Rockford, IL or San Diego, CA

Reports To: This position will report to the Import/Export Director and may have management responsibility for a team of up to 2-5 employees.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to business units on export compliance with the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and
• OFAC-Office of Foreign Assets Control, and other import/export laws.
• Monitor regulatory changes in conjunction with internal policies and programs
• Manage the export licensing process under EAR and ITAR jurisdiction, re-export licenses and classification reviews
• Conduct export compliance due diligence, analyze requirements and integrate into corporate compliance program for new acquisitions or divestitures
• Manage employees charged with export service functions and direct the activities of export service staff
• Manage and educate internal staff on new directives or initiatives introduced within the department
• Manage export license applications, TAA’s and MLA’s
• Develop procedures and processes for export compliance at operating companies
• Develop and conduct export compliance training at operating companies
• Oversee drafting of voluntary disclosures as necessary
• Provide and maintain classifications for operating companies (HTS, ECCN)
• Develop and manage departmental performance measurement tools
   

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience in the field of export compliance with working knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other laws and regulations of international trade.
• Experience with OFAC regulations
• Experience in managing an export compliance program
• Minimum 7-10 years experience.
• Bachelor degree required
