IMPORT COMPLIANCE MANAGER
NEW POSITION!
Job Summary: In this newly created position, manage the trade compliance program for profitable and stable Fortune 500 industry leader in its field.
Location: Montreal, Canada
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with import and export laws and regulations as well as company policy
- Create and implement corporate trade compliance strategy, policy and procedures
- Act as internal corporate point of contact and go-to person for trade compliance activities and with government officials
- Oversee customs brokers and customs entry process
- Conduct internal and external audits relating to the import and export process
- Advise management of changes to trade compliance laws and regulations
- Conduct trade compliance training to employees of all levels as necessary
- Manage product classification database for customs declarations
- Ensure proper valuation declarations are made with regard to all cross border transactions
- Ensure product eligibility for Free Trade Agreements including NAFTA
- Develop and audit internal control systems
Qualifications Required:
Experience managing a trade compliance program
Bachelor’s degree required
Management experience preferred
Bilingual French and English preferred
Canadian Customs Brokers License preferred
