FTZ & Duty Deferrals Practice Leader

Overview:  Newly created opportunity to build and develop the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) consulting group for a worldwide leading provider of trade compliance consulting services.  Join other top trade compliance leaders in an unlimited growth opportunity in presenting solutions for FTZ and other duty deferral programs to new and existing clients worldwide.

Location:  Michigan

Responsibilities:

-Develop a Foreign Trade Zone consulting practice group for leading provider of trade compliance consulting services
-Coordinate with the Sales & Marketing team in creation of marketing materials including website, printed materials and advertising.
-Advise clients in all stages of the FTZ implementation process including feasibility study, grant application, cost analysis, facility management, software selection, compliance procedures, employee selection, etc.
-Hire, train and manage team of staff to provide on-site and remote FTZ management services including government filings, inventory management, record keeping and reporting (CF214, entries, reconciliation, HMT payments, etc.)
-Deliver proposals and present to potential & existing clients promoting practice services
-Oversee team managing all operational compliance functions for FTZs for clients
-Responsible for interaction and relationship with clients, zone Grantee and CBP port officials
-Develop, maintain and update desktop compliance manuals for clients
-Monitor regulatory changes and advise clients on their impact and offer timely cost-effective solutions as necessary
-Provide foresight to expand future services to include other duty deferral services worldwide such as maquiladora/IMMEX, outward processing relief, duty suspension, etc.

Qualifications:

-Hands-on experience managing FTZs essential
-Experience in customs consulting management and client sales process helpful
-Excellent communication, management, presentation and customer service skills
-Ability to evaluate, recommend and implement 3rd party FTZ software for clients
-In-depth knowledge of Customs and OGA regulations, as they relate to FTZs
-Customs Broker License preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain
-Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
-Bachelor's Degree preferred
-Ability to travel both domestically and internationally regularly
