CDI has an Immediate Need for an EXPORT ADMINISTRATOR
Full-time direct job in Melbourne, Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Assists and may be responsible for the preparation, implementation and modification of export/import license applications, technical assistance agreements, manufacturing license agreements and exemption usage.
- Plans and coordinates import/export activities, including the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, related customer service, brokerage and customs transactions.
- Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products.
- Researches and resolves customer or supplier issues.
- Assists with determining the classification of goods under the US Harmonized tariff schedules and government rulings
- Assists with the documentation and determination of valuation of the goods being shipped
- Assists with the maintenance of records and record retention of all trade compliance documents
- Assists with providing cross coverage support for the various import & export functions
- Assists with monitoring, tracking and documentation of international activity for TS
- Ensures that administrative and regulatory requirements related to import and export licensing and compliance are met
- Assists with audit activity for export and import compliance
- Assists with implementation of monitoring of trade compliance policies and procedures
- Co-responsibility for preparation of international shipping documentation, record-keeping, customs broker interface and import clearance
- Communicates with DRS Purchasing Managers, Shipping/Receiving personnel, Engineering Personnel, Program Managers, Business Development personnel and Contracts Managers to determine program requirements and ensure compliance
- Liaison between trade compliance team members, customers within the organization and the trade compliance community
- Assists with training for programs and/or trade compliance functions
- Provide back-up support in various trade compliance roles as required
- Other related projects as required
Qualifications:
- B.A. degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 to 5 years experience in export/import licensing, specializing in State Department licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements; defense industry experience preferred
- Certified US Export Compliance Officer preferred
- Must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality with respect to all matters
- Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments regarding the interpretation and application of US Export and Import Regulations and the ability to research, interpret and apply complex government regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be dedicated, flexible, team player with the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines; ability to manage high-volume and multi-task activities within assigned time constraints while maintaining courteous and professional demeanor with minimal supervision
- Must be willing to accept new responsibilities and attend training necessary to meet departmental requirements and develop trade compliance skill set
- Familiar with US Customs, US Import and US Export Administration Regulations
- Familiar with Foreign Trade Regulations / Practices
- Demonstrates understanding of the International Traffic in Arms, Bureau of Industry & Security and Department of Homeland Security & Border Protection Regulations
- Minimal travel for training requirements may be required
- US Citizenship is required
