Customs Compliance Sr. Administrator
Location: Mclean VA/Washington DC
This position will assist the Corporate Manager of Customs Compliance with the following:
- Coordination with Treasury on all Customs bond renewals, and new bond applications
- Manage and maintain the Corporate Powers of Attorneys for all brokers/freight forwarders
- Maintain a corporate training log
- Customs Compliance Audits and Assessments
- Assist in the Scheduling and Management of Customs Compliance Audits and Assessments. Follow up with internal and external auditors via email to ensure Pre-Audit Questionnaires are completed.
- Participate in Customs Compliance Audits and Assessments by observation, note taking and conduct procedure checks.
- Ensure that Corrective Measures From Audits and Assessments and Disclosures Are Tracked, Implemented and Documented by providing action items reports to manager.
- Monitor and Assist in The Coordination of Audit and Assessment Activities with outside Counsel
- Voluntary Disclosures
- Monitor and Assist as required in the coordination of disclosure activities
- ITT Trade Compliance Programs
- Assist In Preparing and Providing Reports, presentations, training material, etc.
- Manage Access By Businesses To ACE, Tradeflow, CustomsInfo, and other Customs software programs as needed
- Schedule and Manage all planning logistics of Company-Wide Customs and Commerce Compliance Conference 2 times per year
- Work with other admin staff to ensure participation in Corporate Trade Compliance meeting
- Monitor, Coordinate and Manage Activities With ITT’s On-Line Customs Compliance Training (TBD)
- Provide Customs Content for input to The Trade Compliance Newsletter/Web Page
- Manage and Schedule Various customs Training Program, on-line Web Xs, conferences and seminars to be held throughout the country for customs compliance
Requirements:
- College degree preferred
- 2-3 Years Direct Experience with Customs Compliance
- Excellent Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
- Effective Communication - Effectively conveys ideas and messages both formally and informally, in speaking and in writing. Delivers clear, concise, accurate and persuasive written and oral messages, supply supporting facts as necessary.
- Ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision and ability to recognize issues and to take initiative.
