Nokia is seeking an Export Compliance Specialist to join our Global Trade Compliance team in Irving Texas. This team is responsible for providing expertise and knowledge in the area of Export Compliance/Export Control in North America and Latin America. This person will establish, develop, monitor and maintain procedures in accordance with export regulatory requirements and Nokia global policies to ensure Nokia’s compliance with BIS, CBP, and other governmental agencies.
The Export Compliance Specialist will:
- develop and oversee the export compliance program at Nokia sites
- develop and enhance export compliance assessment guidelines and audit checklists to ensure adherence to Nokia compliance processes
- manage and maintain programs/systems for internal assessment
- determine licensing requirements
- investigate and resolve complex export issues
- identify change needs, participate in implementation and drive necessary actions in project work
- monitor 3rd party (e.g. Freight Forwarders, 3PL) activities
- develop and conduct export compliance training,
- oversee recordkeeping
- monitor developments in export regulations
- work in close cooperation with import counterparts on related issues
- participate in system development
- act as a deployment manager in local projects
- participate in the development and maintenance of Trade Compliance intranet pages
Qualifications
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the EAR as well as solid ECCN classification skills for technical products. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective teamwork, influencing, process development, and project management skills. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external customers and have excellent presentation, communication and time management skills as well as the ability to manage competing priorities. Working knowledge of SAP/GTS is preferred. Bachelor of Science in related field plus 6+ years Trade Compliance industry experience is required.
