Title: EUROPEAN IMPORT COMPLIANCE MANAGER - NEW EUROPE BASED POSITION!

Job Summary:  Global industry leader has a new Europe based import compliance position offering opportunity to create and manage a trade compliance program. This high visibility position reports through legal department with full management support.

Location:  At one of several European cities

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain customs and import compliance program for European facilities in multiple countries
• Act as the main contact for trade compliance within the European Union
• Mange trade compliance of indirect reports at multiple country level facilities
• Develop and implement compliance manual including written procedures
• Conduct internal audits of compliance processes and procedures
• Conduct internal trade compliance training for all affected employees
• Respond to requests from government authorities
• Determine proper commodity code classification of components/finished goods
• Determine proper valuation for goods imported into the European Union
• Qualify goods under free trade agreements
• Manage customs brokers and freight forwarders
• Develop relationships with government officials; participate in trade organizations
• Advise upper management on the impact of changes to trade compliance laws and regulations 

Qualifications Required:

• Extensive knowledge of European import laws and regulations
• Experience developing and managing an import compliance program
• Second language fluency preferred
• University degree desired
• Ability to travel within Europe
