Job Overview:

ATMI is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to provide the overall direction and leadership of the development, implementation and management for programs that impact the trade transactions of our global organization, ensuring compliance with all export/import regulations, as well as meet the strategic goals and objectives.  This position is located in our Austin, Texas facility and reports to the Director of Supply Chain. The opportunity allows for high-level visibility, direct impact to the bottom line and participation on a dynamic team in a high-tech, growing organization where individual success is recognized and rewarded.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Continuous awareness of all international import/export activity at ATMI;
• In depth knowledge of import/export laws, regulations, policies and procedures including but not limited to: export administration regulations (US); international traffic in arms regulations; foreign assets control regulations; customs laws and regulations; corresponding laws and regulations in other countries;
• Develop and implement policies, processes and procedures for the import and export of goods, equipment, materials, intellectual property, technology transfers, provision of services and prohibited party screening;
• Review changes in laws and regulations that may affect ATMI lines of business and update associated policies, processes and procedures;
• Create and implement import/export global compliance training programs;
• Monitor and be accountable for all ATMI’s import/export compliance;
• Determine jurisdiction for ATMI’s products and technology;
• Conduct or oversee investigations into potential violations on an as needed basis;
• Lead audits for import/export compliance and conduct periodic risk assessment of ATMI’s import/export activities;
• Ensure ATMI complies with all import/export duty laws by partnering with the in-house tax department;
• Advise others regarding declared value of goods for import purposes.

Education/Experience:

• Demonstrated knowledge of both domestic and international laws, customs, duties, trade regulations for import/export;
• Bachelors Degree required;
• 5-10 years related work experience in a global high tech organization;
• Experience developing and implementing a licensing program;
• Transportation industry and/or legal background preferred.
